Tulsa Tasting – The Dog House

April 11, 2013Katie

This was by far one of the most interesting and tasty places we visited on our Tulsa Tasting tour..

The Dog House with it’s crazy hotdog selections.  My daughter Kayla and her friend Brettley loved this place.

Josh Lynch, the owner of  The Dog House was, how shall I say, one of the more colorful and fantastically NICE people we met on our tour.

Josh started out with several hotdog carts in and around Tulsa and had just recently found a permanent home on S. Detroit Street when we were there. I’ve heard he has reverted back to carts now, selling his dogs with dozens upon dozens of toppings around the Tulsa area.

Check out The Dog House Facebook page to find out where Josh will be serving up his crazy dogs next!

While we were visiting The Doghouse, we asked Josh for some recommends because frankly, we were overwhelmed with the choices.

Josh recommended the Tulsa Dog with Cream Cheese, with mustard, onions, pepper, bacon and Head Country BBQ sauce.

If you’ve never thought to put cream cheese on a hot dog before, think again because it’s delicious! This is by far their most popular selling dog Josh told us.

I love this other hot dog we got and I crave it today although I’m nowhere near Tulsa.  Luckily we have Mutt’s here and they have a similar dog!

This was falafel made like a hotdog.

Topped with homemade Tzatziki sauce, tomatoes, cheese and fresh dill.

This was delicious!

If you’re in the Tulsa area, and have a craving for a hot dog, I highly recommend you locate Josh on Facebook and try one of his amazing dogs.

Hey, Katie. I finally got a copy of your book! I was thrilled to see My Thai included. It is one of our favorites---ate there last night, btw. For another colorful joint, you must go to Phat Phillies the next time you are in town. (They used to be where Dawg House "used to be," if you follow all that. Will definitely have your book in hand the next time we visit OKC.
