How Many Coffee Mugs Are Too Many?
When Mr. Wonderful and I moved into our new house, we were amazed at the cupboard space. We probably had more than twice as much storage space than we had at our previous home.
When unpacking the kitchen boxes, however, I realized that we had a problem – we had WAY too many coffee cups and mugs! But we went ahead and put them all in the cupboard anyway thinking we get back to weeding through them later.
Well folks, it’s later, like four years later and they’re still there. Just look. Here our funtioning side of a set of cupboards and the mugs we primarily use for coffee, tea, soup and chili.
And this is what I just removed from the other side of that cupboard.
I have a hard time getting rid of them because what if I want to use them one day? I mean, I can’t get rid of my Princess House crystal mugs that I love to use for spiced cider in the fall can I? And I can’t get rid of those Christmas mugs that I use for a few weeks during the Holidays can I? And those white dainty cups – all 20 of them. They match the everyday dishes I use. And even though I never use them, I can’t get rid of a full set right?
But I need room for these sweethearts.
I’ve been collecting these slowly and I am in love with the pattern on the dinner plates.
And the deep Tuscan looking bowls make me smile.
And I really love this covered baking dish.
Okay, and LOOK at this oblong bowl with scrolled handles.
And suddenly, I don’t mind clearing out the cupboards that much anymore.
Because I think they look very pretty now.
