4th of July Decor Reflections

A few years ago we go this beautiful distressed china cabinet and I’ve had more fun decorating it for the various seasonal holidays.
For some reason I’ve never decorated for the 4th of July much in the past, but this year has bumped up my patriotic spirit due to Conner joining the Navy. (I may have to paint “Sailor” over “Soldier” on this piece.
I think my freedom has a much greater meaning now that I realize the price of it more fully.
Red white and blue now has family blood ties.
Old Glory waves a little more strongly for me.
Stars and Stripes seem a little more bold
A mother’s heart displays these things a little more proudly, yet little more anxiously.
I hope you all have fantastic plans for July 4th, the date of America’s independence.
When you watch those fireworks bursting forth, remember the hearts of those missing that special someone who is serving the USA away from home, like my boy. Remember, the mothers, the children, the fathers that will be missing them, but also say a little prayer for the Sailors, Soldiers, Marines, Airmen and Guardsman that can’t be with those people so that their loved ones can continue to celebrate Independence Day every year with BBQ’s, pool parties and fireworks displays!
Happy almost birthday America!
