12 Days of Christmas Foodie Wish List 2012
It’s almost December again and time for my 12 Days of Christmas Foodie Wish List.
Every year, I try to find things that would make any foodie or home cook extraordinaire happy as pie, (pun intended)! Some of them are giant wishful dreams and some are attainable, but all of them are things I’ve deemed as fabulous and would make any cuisine lover sigh with delight!
Here we go!
This year we got an iPad and it has rocked my cooking world. I love that my food magazines like Food & Wine and Bon Appetit have iPad online versions of the magazine and the recipes are the SIMPLEST to read by just swiping down on the iPad. So here is numero Uno on my list:
Day #1-3 will be combined this year because I love them separately but also adore them all together!
Day #1-3 – iPad Custom Tablet Accessories (williams-sonoma.com)
The screen shield clips easily onto the corners of your iPad to prevent against spatters and spills ($14.95). The kitchen stand ($49.95) lets you set your iPad in 4 different positions and the blue-tooth speaker ($149.95) allows you to play cooking videos wirelessly. I’M IN HEAVEN!
Day #4 – Vinturi Wine Deluxe Aerator Set (Amazon $49.99)
Open up your wines to their full potential with this lovely aerator.
Day #5 – Onion Goggles (Chef’s Catalog $19.95)
Never let em’ see you cry again while chopping onions, or better yet, never let your family members weasel out of chopping onions again because they “make them cry”! (You KNOW who I’m talking about child of mine!)
Day #6 – Viante Pasta Fresco Automatic Pasta Maker (Bed, Bath & Beyond $169.00)
Heaven help me! Not since the days of the electric bread maker, have carbs come this easily! Dump in your ingredients, snap on one of the 10 interchangeable discs for extracting and cutting pasta (including biscotti!) and homemade noodles are at instant gratification! This could be highly dangerous.
Day #7 – Togiharu Two Sided Sharpening Stone (korin.com $49.90)
After recently taking a knife skills class, I learned that most chefs prefer sharpening their knives on stones. This one features a medium size grit on one side and a fine grit on the other.
Day #8 – The Farm: Rustic Recipes for a Year of Incredible Food (Amazon.com $18.98)
This former Gourmet test cook that WOW’d many a food editor, uses the style of cooking I love – rustic and wonderful.
Day #9 A Gel Pro Comfort Mat (gelpro.com, Prices vary)
For anyone who loves to cook and stands for long periods of time on wood or tiled kitchen floors, these things are a godsend and now come in great colors as well. One of our kids got us one last year that I place in front of my sink, and now I want another one for my stove area and cutting board area.
Day #10 Tea Towels from World Market (worldmarket.com &6.99-$10)
Made of 100% cotton and too pretty to use, I adore their kitchen towel line.
Day #11 Tasting Party Sets from Pier 1 Imports (pier1.com $19.96)
How fun would these be to serve mini-appetizers in at a gathering…or just put out multiple condiments in?
Day #12 Le Creuset French Press (lecreuset.com $60.00)
My list is never complete without one item from the wonderful Le Creuset collection and swoon, they now have a french press in my favorite color of – CHERRY!
Isn’t this WAY more fun than singing a song about birds in a tree?
Happy countdown to Christmas! May you buy your foodie something fun!
How about you? What do you want in YOUR kitchen this Christmas? Tell me about it in the comments below!
