Where I’ve Been

I’ve been strangely absent for the past 5 days.

I was in Arizona…which I fell in love with. This was taken out of the plane window as we approached Phoenix.

You see, we were heading to Phoenix to surprise Mr. Wonderful’s brother Pat for his 50th birthday.  This is Pat.

Sorry ladies, Pat is already taken by his lovely wife Wendy.

By the way, those above two pictures were taken by Mr. W’s other brother Bobby, who is a great photographer and has a camera I totally covet.

This is Bobby, and his beautiful wife Linda.

Also making the trip…Mr. W’s sister Jeanette and his Momma.

And of course, Mr. W and his other sis Cheryl.

Here are all the siblings and Fran, his Momma.

Wendy was throwing Pat a party Friday night.  He knew she was doing something but not sure what. While Pat was at work, we set up his party.  We were still adjusting to the 2 hour time zone change and getting up at 3:30 a.m. to catch our 6 a.m. flight.

Finally, we finished and were all sitting on the patio when Pat arrived home.  Wendy told him she wanted to show him something in the back yard.

That’s Pat with his kids, Ryan and Cami.  And my mom-in-law, who got caught in the house.  While he might not looked stunned, you have to know that Pat is a” processor” and he was completely overwhelmed.

He did kind of stand there in shock, smiling while everyone jumped up and hugged him.  Pat also gave Wendy a big ol’ kiss once he realized she’d pulled this off without him figuring it out.

Pretty soon, the party started in full swing.

This was new to us, and we quickly became addicted to playing this game…Corn Hole.

Wendy  also had a dance floor brought in and Pat got to dance with his Momma on his birthday…so sweet!

It was a perfect night…except for the part of us all being up for almost 24 hours by the time the party ended.  But I think Pat enjoyed himself, his friends, family…his cake..and Wendy. (More on those 2 sailor figures later)

I love surprise parties!

I love Mr. W’s family and the fun we had.  I know Pat had a great birthday …and actually it lasted 5 days!
