Tucker’s Onion Burgers

September 10, 2011Katie

Tuckers Onion Burgers is now open!

I love soft openings of restaurants. I like to go try them out and see what they’re all about before they open. And what’s even better?

When it’s great and you can spread the word.

Tucker’s is located at the corner of 23rd and Hudson (kitty corner to Cheever’s).

It’s a small place but has a nice clean interior and it was hopping that day for lunch.

The burger joint hails from A Good Egg Dining fame (Cheevers, Republic, Iron Starr BBQ) and is their latest project and  Tuck’s does burgers , plain and simple.

Oh yes and grilled onions. In short, onion burgers.  Ranging from a single onion burger for $4.99 to a double for $6.99 you can also opt to go all the way and have The Mother Tucker which is over one pound of beefy onion goodness.  There is one side dish (fries) for an additional $2.59 and they are thin and hand- cut and crispy.

Other than that there is The One Salad ($4.99) with pinto beans and Fritos on the menu.  Drinks include hand-dipped shakes, homemade lemonade and strawberry limeade, ice tea, sweet cane tea and four types of beer on the menu.  And of course – sodas.  And hold onto your plastic Tuck’s cup if you go, because bringing it back will score you a reduced rate drink (soda only) for $.99

The idea is simple – go to the counter, place your order (which will be marked right in front of you on your paper sack).

Your choices for toppings?  There is shredded lettuce, tomato, pickles, fresh grilled jalapenos (LOVED these!), ketchup, mayo and mustard.

Since there were two of us, Mr. W ordered one of the Beef Onion Burgers (100% All-Natural Creekstone Farms Black Angus Beef).

I did beg for one bite to taste it and it was moist and delicious if not a little sloppy, but that’s to be expected from a good onion burger right?

I ordered the All Natural Turkey Onion Burger and I didn’ t feel like I was missing out on anything.  In fact we looked closely to make sure this was turkey, cuz it was really good.

Seriously loved this Turkey Burger.

Mr. W got a hand-dipped chocolate shake and it was delicious! (Sorry no photo).

Tucker’s also has a nice patio, perfect for the weather right now in OKC!

Hey check out the dork taking photos in the window!  (That’d be me.)

If you’re hungry for a good burger, check out Tucker’s Onion Burgers soon! They’re open and they’re waiting for you!

I hope you’ve enjoyed this Oklahoma City Restaurant Review – please let me know if you try out Tucker’s Burgers and what you think!
