The Proverbial New Year’s Resolution

December 30, 2010Katie

These are but a few of the things I’ve made over the past year here on the Dishes section of the blog.

Can I be honest with you?

I’ve kind of had it with rich food.

Why are you laughing?  I’m serious!  If you followed my family for a week, you would see that I am the one who eats the healthiest.  I adore vegetables, chicken, fish and seafood while everyone else loves a good steak, mashed potatoes and gravy and veggies with cheese sauce..

So during this time of resolutions, I am having a thought.

I am going to make a Healthy section of the blog and begin to cook recipes that are high on flavor but low on fat and calories and bad carbs.

So, I say all that to ask you the question….will this fly?  Would you like this?   Would you toss my RSS feed in the trash and never come back? Would I disappear from your Favorite places as fast as a mouse at a feline get-together?

Just think of it, we could all struggle together with weight loss and healthy cooking.  Also, if you have a personal favorite healthy dish, please clue me in on the comment section below! Let’s share recipes, joys and a journey together!

I would truly love feedback on this so please leave me a comment below.

Hopefully Cooking with “Healthy” Love,

Katie

I'd stay, read and enjoy. There's got to be a way to stay out of the fast food places, and eat something that doesn't come from a box, that's still fairly simple and easy to prepare after you get home, and be good for you, too. It's why I'm really getting into all sorts of Asian cuisines. They're not overly meat-focused. They have lots of veggies, they're mostly fairly easy to prepare, and they still have lots of flavor. I'd like to see quick/easy/simple *healthy* breakfast stuff; stuff with either a make-ahead component, or fast prep time so that I can get it prep'd and eaten while in my morning rush before work. We're here with you. Lookin' forward to seeing where this goes. You go, girl! ;-)

I am new to your blog and so excited to have found it! I would love a healthy section as I am constantly cooking things and trying to trick the family into thinking its unhealthy! ;-)
