Pizza Pizza Pizza

While in Michigan, I spent some time with my cousin Diane.

This is her and her husband Ron.  They have three boys who look just like Ron only in graduated down form.

I lifted these pictures from her Facebook page to show you 🙂

When we’re in Michigan, we’re always sure to have one or two outings out at Di’s house.

In the summers we swim while Mr. Wonderful fishes in the wooded creek that runs behind their beautiful house.

Diane loves to entertain and she throws the coolest parties for her boys.  Just look at the stuff she does!

Would you just LOOK at the cake ball bobbers in that upper left corner picture she did for a fisherman party!

And this tackle box full of goodies for the fish-themed party for her son Spencer!

But this fall, we had a pizza party on the grill.

I forgot to take my camera so these pictures are from the iPad and not too great.

Diane had several types of sauces and toppings, including this hand made tomato sauce.

She had mixed up the pizza dough and left it to rise and be ready for when we arrived.

She rolled out a few crusts and then turned the job over to Mr. Wonderful, who knows how to “slap” pizza dough pretty doggone good.

From there, Ron had a pizza peel ready with cornmeal sprinkled on it for easy pizza sliding onto the grill.

Outside on the grill, Ron had two stones sizzling hot for the dough and he slid the crusts onto them.

He let the crusts bubble and crisp for exactly four minutes, then brought them inside and flipped over the bottom side for us to top.

Mmm…loved this combo of feta cheese, fresh tomatoes and basil.  Then it was back out on the pizza peel to be set on the stone for another four minutes.

Then they were transferred onto metal baking sheets where this guy (my Dad) ran them upstairs to the kitchen to serve.

Upstairs we had our local coffee barista Alex (Diane’s oldest) making us some wonderful coffee drinks.

Here is a shot of some of the pizzas we created.

We always have a great time at Di’s.  A pizza party is a great idea. Get everyone involved and have yourself some fun!

Sounds like creativity in the kitchen runs in the family! These pizzas look amazingly delicious! And you're right! Diane's sons look just like their Dad! :)

Those pizzas look amazing. What is really nice though is to see your mom, Aunt Janie and cousin Diane. I also grew up in the German Brotherhood in Wisconsin. I know your mom and Aunt Janie well. I probably saw you at conferences in Flint as I went as a child and then again after I married and had kids. My husband and your dad were the moderators for one of the last ones. I really enjoy your blog and follow it since your mom posts it on facebook.
