I am revisiting my Marketsource post this morning as I am featuring them on my weekly segment on Rise & Shine Oklahoma! I hope I send some new viewers and readers to this place, because it is a treat if you love great stuff for your kitchen! If you don’t live in my area, check around for a restaurant supply place near where you live. You’ll LOVE it!
So today, Lorelei called and woke me from my deep Benadryl slumber to ask me to meet them to go shopping at my local kitchen supply store. They gave me ohh…..about 30 minutes to get ready. I’d been wanting to shop this place for a long time, so I woke up, dragged a brush through my hair, threw on some mismatched clothes, and took off.
Hey girls? I was on Benadryl ok? This cough/cold thing has been dragging me down for a couple of days. I’m a little sluggish.
But oh, was I glad I went. This is a candy store for foodie grown-ups.
We had so much fun, and before I knew it, we had spent several hours browsing through the shelves of kitchen wonderment.
Market Source actually has a 40,000 square foot warehouse filled with over 7000 items in stock. Founded and still managed by Dick Curtis, they pride themselves on being family-owned and operated.
There were knives and spatulas. I’ve never seen so many sizes and types of them in my life.
I put my rather ugly hand in this picture, just so you could see how huge it was.
Mental note…get manicure ..and soon.
There were ladles. All kinds of ladles.
And whisks. The whisk on the far right side was about 3 feet long.
I got a medium and small ladle, each for under $2.00 and they were heavy duty stainless steel.
Then there was this aisle of shiny stainless containers and pots.
In fact, there were LOTS of pots, big, little, super heavy duty nice cookware.
I am going back for some of those later. We need one of those tall awesome pots for our crab boils. King crab legs would actually fit in one of those!
There was Mexican ware. Restaurant style salsa cups in a 12 pack, and tortilla warmers.
I might go back for those too.
Look at all these kinds of condiments bowls and small prep dishes and multi-packs of salt and pepper shakers. FUN stuff!
Poor Kevin, Lorelei’s husband drove us and stayed with us the whole time. What a guy!
There was bakeware. And little bowls, huge bowls, springform pans and pie tins. You name it, it was there.
Melisa loved this little bundt pan.
“It’s a BUN-dt!
It’s a cake! I know! Thank you! Thank you very, very much.
There’s a hole in this cake!”
Name that movie.
There were rolling pins of all kinds – pasta, tapered and traditional. And tart pans, and biscuit cutters for any size biscuit. I particularly loved this set.
These paddles were big enough to row a boat with. I guess these are used for mixing in one of those large restaurant bowls? I mean, what would you make with these?
I was thinking they’d have made a mean paddle for when my kids were little? I wouldn’t have even had to use it, they’d just look at it and run.
This is what I truly want to go back for.
Super nice restaurant pans. Heavy duty bonded metal saute pans. At a fraction of the cost of ones you’ll find at big kitchen stores.
Way less expensive than Williams-Sonoma.
Salad bowl, prep bowls, platters and cake stands….
We all loved this platter.
Look! You can see Lorelei’s face reflected in the platter.
This aisle housed measuring cups, pitchers, glass and plastic, syrup and honey containers and shakers of every size.
And this aisle had the most amazing convection ovens, monstrous stoves, industrial mixers and processors. We all sighed in awe.
Just before we left, we found aprons….and chef jackets and hats.
I think we look pretty doggone good in them, don’t you?
Glory be, I’m in trouble now that I know where this place is.
If you live near Oklahoma City, you should check out Market Source! Or look in the Yellow Pages for your own local kitchen supply store. You’ll love it!
