Many of you will have seen the news footage on the Carr Fire in northern California over the past week or more.
What started as a small fire from a car problem, has as of this date escalated into burning over 163,000 acres and is still only 45% contained. Photos of exhausted fireman have been front and center on my social media feeds and my heart goes out to these brave men and women. Entire neighborhoods are gone. It’s very very sad.
Of course, my heart also goes out to the residents affected by the fire. Many have lost homes in the devastation. My own daughter Kayla was evacuated from her home in Redding for many days. Even though her home and belongings are safe, the destruction she is seeing upon returning has greatly affected her. Beautiful scenic places I visited with her when I was out there are now blackened with soot and ashes.
Whiskeytown Lake has been devestated..the marina gone.
She is still wearing a mask as the air quality because of the smoke is very poor.
My daughter is trying to do her part to aid in the relief effort – if you would like to contribute, she has written a blues song in honor of the Carr Fire and you can donate and receive the song here.
Thanks in advance for considering contributing. And keep the men and women in Northern California in your prayers! If you like this post, you might like these as well!
