The Beard
Do all men go through a “facial hair” phase?
I think they do…and I’m not sure why? To my one male reader out there…can you tell me why?
I think it makes them feel rugged, and then they even have to wear things like plaid flannel and leather vests, and boots.
I mean, us women don’t go through things like this do we? You don’t see us refusing to shave our armpits and legs, just to feel rugged and then pulling out the Laura Ingalls Wilder clothes. Right?

Hmm…come to think of it. thank the good Lord for that!
Anyway, I don’t mind so much. I kind of like him this way.
If you have a man or are a man who experiments with a beard, how did it work for you? Did your wife hate it or love it…wives, girlfriends? What did you think? Leave a comment and let me know!

As much as I hate to shave, I don’t have any desire to “go rugged”. First, my facial hair is splotchy at best; second, when I wanna get romantic with the wife I feel guilty for the whisker-burn; thirdly, so the heck cares about rugged.
Some guys do ok with beards, scraggly chin hair and mustaches but it just doesn’t look good on me.
The minority of male population that it does work probably have a wife, girlfriend, lover or significant other that encourges them to go for it. However, in my line of work (heavy construction industry) working outdoors for laborers it is an extra layer of warmth & protection during the winter; but its gotta be a bitch in the summer.
Unkempt beards are the WORST! I think some guys are just too freaking lazy to shave and my have questionable bathing/hygiene habits anyway.
I do know that some of my co-workers go rugged for fall hunting seasons then back to perfect grooming after the hunt is over.
If you like it on your guy, so be-it. Its a matter of preference for the male & his mate. As for the “rugged, outdoorsy, all-naturale” or whatever, count me Clean as a baby’s bum.

My oldest is 32. He’s never seen his dad without his beard. They really enjoy not shaving each day. After a certain age, it is aging though. Your hubby is lookin good!

I like the way my husband looks with a beard, for the simple fact that he looks his age (maybe even a little older). Take away the beard and he looks 10 years younger, therefore making him look like he’s another one of my children rather than my husband.
Also, my boss recently came back from a trip to Africa with a beard. His claim was that he couldn’t buy a razor in Africa. He received so many compliments on it that he has actually kept it for a couple of months.
