I Have Naked Ladies In My Backyard!
Mr. Wonderful and I moved into our house in September of 2005 and these flowers were popping up in the backyard. I think they’re my favorite flowers. I love their spidery look.
Someone told me they were “Naked Ladies”. And that’s what I’ve called them ever since.
If anyone knows the real name of these flowers, I would greatly appreciate you sharing. That way my husband and I can stop telling people there are naked ladies in our yard.
Thank you. I have Googled and cannot find them! Leave a comment below if you know!

Hi Katie! Your naked ladies are “Lycoris radiata.” They are often also called Spider Lilly or Hurricane Lily. Yours are beautiful!

First time I ever saw these was 4 or 5 years ago when I was in Brownsburg visiting mom and dad. The ones I’ve seen have a pale pink flower. I usually see them in random places – like they’ve come up on their own and not planted. We have them in the Memphis area too!

My grandmother has a clump of these in her front yard right now. I just took some of the most lovely pictures of them and her the other day.
